Deveron Projects
Deveron Projects is an arts organisation based in Huntly, a market town in the north east of Scotland with a population of 4,500. It is an active organization in the area that have worked with the local history, context and identity of the town since 1995. Working with the town is the venue methodology, they create projects that connect artists, communities and places.
Deveron Projects offers writers, philosophers, walkers, artists and other thinkers the opportunity to spend a set period of time at their facility. Deveron Projects offers a 2 bed-room cottage in return for some thinking on any topics their concern that ranges from ecology to place-making, social fairness to migration debate, cooking local to right to roam. No financial compensation is offered. The expected outcome varies as fruitful discussions, organizing a talk, or even a joint cooking at their traditional Friday lunch. Dates need to be mutually matched between the Thinker's time and the cottage's availability.
