Residency fee for two weeks is $625 for a private bedroom with a large studio (1 person) or $500 for a private bedroom. Residency fee must be paid in full before arrival. DE-CONSTRUKT [projekts] develops projects with local and international artists that support the cross-pollination of ideas and experimentation among culturally diverse artists and audiences. Artists have the opportunity to produce new works individually or collaboratively, with a focus on experimentation. DE-CONSTRUKT [projekts] provides space to create temporary work and encourages the formation of new networks. Their interest is in the process rather than final outcomes. They serve to support new ideas and new ways of expression to share with the local community at large and abroad.

DE-CONSTRUKT [projekts] based in Red Hook, Brooklyn is excited to announce an artist residency opportunities available for 2018. 
They provide artists with a place to live, work and engage with other artists and the local community of Red Hook. The 2600 sq. loft is equipped with a dark room, wet sink, modern kitchen, and lots of natural light. It also includes accessible on-street parking, access to a large studio for public events and for working when available and a fully furnished bedroom. 
The residency program started in 2013. They have hosted artists from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Iceland, Germany, England, Israel, Italy, and Palestine. Work included painting, music, video, public interventions, installations, workshops, film screening. They also invite curators to apply. Please see the projekts section for reference. 


It is requirement that the resident provide during their stay some sort of public event, be it an exhibition, artist talk, screening, or workshop.

Accommodation Information 

They have two private fully-furnished bedrooms available. One bedroom with its own private studio, with shared bathroom and kitchen.

Studio Information 

The working facilities include an art book library, a fully equipped photography darkroom, and a wet sink. A large event/studio space to hold an exhibition, artist talk or some public event. The studio is also available for working on projects and is perfect for rehearsals, video and photography shoots.

Technical Information 

Fully equipped with hand tools, lighting, high-speed wifi, and a library of artist books a reference materials. Residents have access to a projector and speakers if needed. Access to the on-site private photography darkroom available 24 hours by request. Large industrial wet sink.
