The centre offers the use of a number of common spaces: studio, work and exhibition spaces, 2 refurbished barns adapted as workspaces, kitchen, living room, 3 bathrooms, some organic foods such as olive-oil, vegetables and fruit are also included according to season, natural materials such as stone and wood may also be made available, wireless internet access.
The residency fee includes Bed&Breakfast accommodation in single/double room, electricity, water, heating and cleaning. The weekly residency fee ranges between 250 - 350 euros depending on the length of the residency and type of accommodation.
Applications are open to artists of all levels from beginners to advanced. Candidates should submit:
Arte Studio Ginestrelle aims to: promote contemporary art in all of its artistic forms; stimulate creativity through direct contact with nature and respect for the environment; favour a moment of interchange of ideas on contemporary art; set up artistic workshops, exhibitions, and open-air art along the paths of Ginestrelle, in the Regional Park of Mount Subasio. During the stay each artist will be able to develop his/her project-work in the various artistic fields: visual arts (painting, drawing, photography, installation art, land art, sculpture); literary arts (fiction, poetry, script writing), performing arts (dancing, music, drama). All creative work can be done both inside, in the common studio and/or in the common work hall, and outside, in two refurbished barns re-adapted as laboratories and in the local surroundings. A personal exhibition will be organized at the end of the residency at the Arte Studio Ginestrelle. A final collective exhibition of all the works will be presented in Assisi.
The International Contemporary Exhibition of all the works created during the residencies will be shown at the Art Gallery in Assisi.
Single/double bedrooms are available according the needs, rich breakfast with organic foods from the farm house.
Work can either be done in the studio, within the residency, or outside in one of the two refurbished barns which have been adapted as workspaces.
The residency lies in the hills of the Regional Park of Mount Subasio, near the historic town of Assisi (UNESCO World Heritage site), famous for its fresco by Giotto and Cimabue.
