TransArtists’ highlights in BK-informatie

BK-informatie is a Dutch professional journal for visual artists, which exists for 35 years, in print and now also in digital versions. It provides visual artists and other working in the visual arts field with information over arts policy (on local, regional and national levels as well as from institutions and art organisations), as well as calls for projects, manifestations, biennales, prizes, competitions and artist-in-residency programs.

DutchCulture | TransArtists collaborates with BK-informatie on this last category. TransArtists recommends an artist-in-residence in this section, in every issue of this year. We will focus on a different model of residency, as well as on different regions of the world in every issue to make sure we bring forward the diversity of programs available to visual artists.

BK-informatie is published eight times a year and has over 8.500 subscribers. Its website has around 10.000 monthly visits. BK stands for “beeldende kunst” or visual arts in Dutch.

Our first selection: Big Bend National Park residency

The first residency listed is in Big Bend National Park, Texas, USA. This park is located at the Rio Grande River, on the USA and Mexico Border. The aim of the residency is to invite artists to reflect on and get inspired by the fascinating surroundings of the diverse landscapes it offers. The call is open until 22 August 2016 and the residency programme runs the whole month of November 2016. The residency is part of the National Parks Arts Foundation.
