AiR De Missie: Exploring the meaning of spirituality and religion, deadline July 1

AIR De Missie welcomes mid-career artists, who are based in the Netherlands (speaking Dutch), of all disciplines, to explore the meaning of spirituality and religion in our contemporary society in exchange with the residents of Park Zuiderhout.

The residency takes place 1 October to 31 December 2022. There is a spacious studio available with a separate guest room. In addition to board and lodging, there is a fee of €4000 (incl. VAT) and an allowance of €1000 (incl. VAT) for production costs per residence. The artist donates one work of art to the collection Meaning and Spirituality of Park Zuiderhout.

Park Zuiderhout is a nearly 100-year-old Mission House in Teteringen (Breda) and is surrounded by woods. In recent decades, the site has been transformed into a lively residential community for the elderly who can receive support in the form of home care, nursing home care and a wide range of welfare services. Park Zuiderhout believes in the power of art as a means to work on health and well-being. Hence the start of the artist-in-residence program in 2020.
