McColl Summer 2022 Educators and Parents Artist-in-Residence Program

McColl Center for Art + Innovation is a nationally acclaimed artist residency and contemporary art space committed to putting artists first with 360 degrees of support, including artist studios, modern equipment and tools, and exhibition spaces.

McColl Center’s summer 2022 artist-in-residence program is offered to educators and parents who otherwise would not have the opportunity to participate in McColl Center residencies because of responsibilities during school or university terms. This residency will support their practice, giving them the opportunity to bring their families, utilize the facilities, and access equipment in the artist labs.

McColl Center is a hub for connection within the creative community. This is a place where all are welcome to share in a universal passion for art and inspiration through creative participation and engagement.

Residency Dates: May 16–August 9, 2022 (12 weeks)

Application Fee: $35 nonrefundable

Selected artists receive

• $6,000 living, materials, and travel stipend (United States-based artists only; due to the limitations of B-1 visas, international artists are not eligible to receive stipends)
• Furnished apartment (for artists from outside the greater Charlotte area)
• 24-hour access to a private studio with Wi-Fi and common use areas
• Participation in a group show
• Photo and social media documentation
• Professional curatorial guidance
• Opportunities to engage with McColl Center audiences via public programs
