Alliance of Artists Communities' 2015 annual conference - International mobility handout
The Alliance of Artists Communities (USA) is an international association of artists' residencies — a diverse field of more than 1,500 programs worldwide that support artists of any discipline in the development of new creative work. Believing that the cultivation of new art and ideas is essential to human progress, the Alliance's mission is to advocate for and support artists' communities, to advance the endeavors of artists.
Having grown from a small group of dedicated residency leaders to an international network of artist-centered organizations, they are taking the year to celebrate a quarter century of Alliance history and to highlight the amazing contributions of the field. Here you can find the schedule of the conference, as well as the list of speakers.
Marie Fol, the programme manager of TransArtists, participated in a panel about International Mobility for Artists. In her handout, you can find all sorts of links and useful information about visa, taxes, various resources and publications - as well as links toward funding sources. When it comes to funding, the key document to know about is On the Move mobility funding guide.
Download the hand-out here in pdf - soon it will be on the Alliance's website, together with the rest of the conference materials.
