Grez-sur-Loing Foundation
The Grez-sur-Loing Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and support of art, literature and scientific education and research. The foundation rents out apartments to academies and other foundations and institutions, which, in turn, offers grants for residents from countries all over the world at the Hotel Chevillion in Grez-sur-Loing. The Hôtel Chevilion was around the 1880s visited by prominent artists and authors from Sweden, Finland and Great Britain. The inspiring environment in and around the Hôtel Chevilion is now again offering an opportunity to work, exchange ideas and socializing with peers.
At the Hôtel Chevillon there are four two-room flats and one one-room flat, three separate studios and one ‘writer’s den’ as well as the Carl Larsson flat with adjoining studio. There are plenty of communal spaces for meeting other residents. Kitchen utensils, crockery and bedding are included. Further information on the Foundation´s website.
Grez-sur-Loing is a village with a population of about 1,300 situated approximately 70 kilometres south of Paris and 9 kilometres south of Fontainebleau.
