Application guidelines:

Applicants must have already published a book. The application should contain: biography, bibliography, max. 10 pages of extract, a short explanation for your application. The application should be sent before September 30th to the Cultural Department of the City of Otterndorf (Kulturamt der Stadt Otterndorf) or per mail. The cultural board of the City will choose the writer in residence.

Description

The City of Otterndorf provides a 5-month stipend for writers who wish to have free time to work or to find new ideas and wish to work as "StadtschreiberIn" (city's writer). The artist in residence will stay at the Gartenhaus am Süderwall, a private house with bedroom, work space, utilities and all required technical means for one resident to work there.

Outcome

The City of Otterndorf expects from the writer that he/she will present his/her previous work during the summer cultural program.

Free accomodation in the Gartenhaus.

Location

The residency set up in the town of Otterndorf, with a history covering six hundred years and an architectural heritage of its old town, has a great historical interest.
