Description
A creative residency at Dreamfarm is a chance to spend focused time in an inspiring natural setting in order to develop meaningful creative projects. Each participant rents a private studio, as both a residence and a creative workspace, for stays of two or four weeks.
Residencies at Dreamfarm are entirely self-directed, and self-catered, allowing the flexibility to work autonomously and follow your own creative process. A Dreamfarm residency is an opportunity to gather ideas, refine skills, research, experiment, grow and produce new work. At Dreamfarm, you can dream big, break free and let your imagination run wild.
Studio Information
Each studio at Dreamfarm has its own special character. All studios have good natural light and come comfortably furnished with working desks, double or single beds, bedding provided.
Accommodation Information
The Dreamfarm property features a creek with swimming holes, rugged native bush and rolling farmland. The retreat centre is an European style chalet which includes the creative studios, as well as spacious common rooms, with timber interiors and wood-fired central heating.
Facilities include a large open plan studio which is ideal for dance and movement sessions, rehearsals and group activities. There is a well equipped garage workshop, perfect for artisan crafts and practical projects. They have a growing library, a collection of musical instruments - including an upright piano - and art materials which are available for use.
Location
The property is situated in an area renown for its fresh produce, local artisans and World Heritage wilderness. Dreamfarm sits at the edge of the wild, but is just a short drive from Huonville town. Day trips will uncover stunning mountain and coastal landscape, charming towns, boutique gourmet producers, local artists, an array of community markets and plenty of outdoor adventures.
