Description

Art Villa Garikula is an independent art centre for meetings with local and international artists. It offers residencies, short trips and education, as well as place for symposiums and workshops. A “Cultural crossroads for people of creative interest and different backgrounds in the arts”. Based in a 19th century citadel built by Polish architect near the river in 1855.

Studio Information

One big studio on third floor under the roof, (painting, sketching). One outside studio to work on wood, iron, concrete.

Location

75 km from Tbilisi among historic sites with medieval monuments and frescoes, with a beautiful nature, healthy water and air, fast changing light, hundreds of colors and inspiring atmosphere. The citadel is located between village and nature, with a river on a side. In the vicinity is found clay, soft stone of blue-green tint, different natural pigments and dry wood.
