To provide financial support for those who want to participate but cannot afford the full fees, Artnoise is receiving support from Watreats which is offering $5000 in financial aid to 5 professional creatives and artists for its trip to Canada. The aid will cover travel expenses, the open program expenses, and an additional $1000 stipend for the prize winners to complete art projects and cover the 2-week living allowance.

To complete the application and submit their portfolio, artists have to:
- Complete their application to Artnoise open program with their project submission.
- Create a 1-minute short film about themselves and their art and share it on Instagram
- Upload the video to Instagram or Tiktok.

Artnoise is a platform which promotes the creation of Afro-inspired arts by Independent Artists. Artnoise celebrates Africa’s multiculturalism and diversity, old and contemporary arts, culture, and style from all across the continent. It is their mission to make it easy for you to discover, collect and integrate creative visuals into your everyday space and lifestyle. Artnoise values respect for personal, cultural and religious differences, individualism, education and social and community development.

The platform celebrates Africa's multiculturalism and diversity from pre-, post-colonial and contemporary eras, with the mission to empower independent visual creators who are interested in African art and culture, and are also interested in creating a future career as African visionaries. The aims and objectives of the residency is to develop and influence world view of creatives by introducing them to cultures different from their own and give them a new cultural experience. The artists will move around communities during this period to learn about them.

Open Call: Artnoise Open Residency Toronto
Artnoise is a program designed for Creatives who work in the digital space interested in exploring Afro inspired arts and audiences in Toronto and Canada. These are creatives who want to take steps in their career and artistic development.

The program provides support and opportunities for digital creatives such as digital illustrators and painters, video game artists, Youtube content creators and other digital arts professionals to create, research, experiment, cultivate new directions in their work as well as execute new projects. Artists are invited to immerse themselves in the local creative community, art exhibitions and festivals, visit galleries and have the opportunity to learn from their peers in the hosting city.

For Artnoise Open Program 2 week stay in Canada, scheduled from 25th October 2023 – 7th November 2023, participants will have the opportunity to explore the arts and cultural scene in Toronto while sharing a condo in Leslieville, Toronto with 14 other participants. Participants will have access to a studio space to create, meet locals as well as enjoy planned tours of Canada art galleries, sites, and street art.

The most attractive feature of the Canada stay is Art Toronto fair which is Canada’s international contemporary and modern art fair, located at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in the city’s downtown core. Providing unique access to the Canadian art market, the fair is the most important annual art event in Canada. The fair attracts an estimated 130,000 people and invites hundreds of artists to exhibit. Participants of Artnoise open program, Canada will have the opportunity to exhibit at least 1 of their works at the fair.

Outcome

Immersion in the Toronto art scene. Exhibit new art, participants of Artnoise open program, Canada will have the opportunity to exhibit at least 1 of their works at the fair.

Technical Information

 The organizers will provide the facilities and studios, but artists are expected to provide art materials and equipment.
