Art Explora

Residency program Art Explora – Cité Internationale des arts

The Art Explora  Foundation together with Cité internationale des arts collaborate to co-construct a unique program for French and international artists and researchers.

The program invites candidates to propose a project that questions contemporary issues, including new technologies, the links between art and science, and environmental and social issues.

20 residents will be selected each year within two programs:

  • SOLO program: for artists only
    • 2 sessions of 6 months each per year:
      - March - August 2022
      - September 2022 - February 2023
  • DUO program for collaborations between researchers and artists
    • 4 sessions of 3 months each per year, each of which will host a duo artist – researcher:
      - March - May 2022
      - June - August 2022
      - September - November 2022
      - December 2022 - February 2023

All residencies are accompanied by a studio apartment in Montmartre, a monthly living allowance and a production grant.

Read more about both programs here.

During his or her residency, the artist and/or researcher will be asked to participate in the life of the site: he or she will take part in meetings with the public (schools, associations), studio visits by art professionals, workshops, conferences or any other activity that enhances the value of his or her practice and allows it to be known to the greatest number of people.

A restitution of the residency project will be considered in accordance with the project, the format and the artistic discipline.
