39.9gallery is a gallery of contemporary art that stimulates change in the Ukrainian art market and forms a community of connoisseurs of Ukrainian art.
The residents will be accommodated in a sanatorium on a bank of the Saksahan river. Kryvyi Rih is the largest city in central Ukraine with a population of over 600,000 people. It is a large, globally important centre of the iron-ore mining and metallurgy region known as the Kryvbas.
RUDA project is a thematic art residency designed to explore the technogenic aesthetics of industrial locations in Kryvyi Rih. During 14 days contemporary artists from various parts of the world can visit the industrial facilities of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih plant, operating and flooded quarries, observation decks overlooking industrial facilities, and the historic streets of Kryvyi Rih.
Staying at the residency will be accompanied by an increased level of reflection on what is heard, seen and created. Using their unique artistic practice, each of the artists will contribute to the development of the theme set by the curator.
There is a separate production room, approximately 40 square meters, equipped with a desk and chairs. If necessary, it is possible to remove or add furniture.
We provide separate rooms for each artist. The rooms are equipped with individual toilets and showers, each room has a bed and bedside tables. There is a desk and chairs in the common room. There is Wi-Fi.
