DutchCulture is the knowledge and network organisation for international cultural cooperation. When culture, media and heritage cross borders, DutchCulture brings people, organisations, knowledge and cultures together. We do this primarily for the Dutch cultural field and the diplomatic missions worldwide. DutchCulture also works for governments and the international cultural field. DutchCulture consists of different departments, amongst which is TransArtists. The TransArtists platform helps artists find suitable artist residencies abroad or in the Netherlands, as well as potential financial support and international contacts.

We are currently looking for someone who can join the team for 8 months, starting 1st July, because one of our advisors will be going on maternity leave.

You will be writing content for the TransArtists website (articles, interviews, etc.), updating the database, input new information and similar. We are especially looking for someone who has interest in artist-in-residence programmes and the mobility of artists and cultural workers; someone who is interested to work on supporting the international cultural exchange and collaboration through organizing events, giving presentations and workshops, participate in seminars, etc. You will be working in a small international team, where among others, you can focus on the international field of artist-in-residencies, in-depth insight in the international cultural field through organising and participating in workshops and/or giving personal advice, etc. We are also open to your own input and/or research related to culture and international mobility.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the national and international cultural field, with interest in artist-in-residence programs
  • To be able to do research and input content for the website - writing articles, doing interviews, updating the website
  • Fluent in English and Dutch (written and spoken)
  • Good with social media
  • Suggesting content, planning and organising events/webinars, with support of the production team of DutchCulture
  • Doing presentations, workshops, participating in events on the topic of artist-in-residency, working internationally and similar
