Week 11-12: Goodbye for now

Week 11-12: Goodbye for now

The last weeks I have closed my research for the project I presented at the studio presentation at Ssamzie Space, June 28 Ssamzie Open Studio. Series of conversations and images made up the picture of my research subject with the title: Narrating melancholy, ~the intimate referent. This subject came up by the notion of time in the city; its different speed and meaning as I noticed in Seoul, the emphasis of time is mainly directed towards a certain future. And it is moving fast!

Dirk van Lieshout, my fellow Dutch resident at Ssamzie, showed an installation of Mobile Food, - drawings printed on huge cardboard boxes that enclosed the visitors who entered his studio. With the airco on and huge piles of red melon we spent a good day talking, illustrating and chatting about new work.

With some last pictures of a beautiful sunset from the roof terrace of Ssamzie, I say goodbye to the wonderful people I met and to a time full of impressions of a city that I gladly take home with me to Amsterdam.
