Open call for Bora Bora Residency Centre

Bora Bora Residency Centre welcomes proposals from professional dance artists for projects to be researched and/or developed in season 2020-21 (August 2020 to June 2021). There are 6 residencies open to professional dance artists or dance ensembles or stage directors with a strong choreographic idea from all over the world. In addition, it is possible for Danish or Danish-based artists to apply for consideration for the international and nordic residency programmes, which are based on exchanges with the Residency Centre partners (read more about them here).

Residencies can have some of the following aims:

  • To begin the first research and development of an artistic idea
  • Explore a whole new area of your artistic practice/work/process or your artistic profile.

Artists will receive the following, when chosen for a residency:

  • 2-3 weeks stage/studio time with one of the Danish co-hosts
  • Travel and accommodation covered for up to 4 participating artists in a residency
  • A fee of approximately 870 Euro per week, per artist for up to 4 participating artists in a residency

Danish and/or Danish based Artists will receive the following, when chosen for a co-production:

  • Contribution to production costs, primarily artist fees, and a full collaboration with Bora Bora
  • Premiere and performances at Bora Bora
  • Bora Bora will be bringing information and material to international network meetings, festivals and conferences etc.

All chosen artists will also receive participation in the Bora Bora Community with an online artist profile, articles in newsletters and follow-ups on future residencies, co-productions and premiers.

The application can be found on their website and the deadline for submitting applications is January 31st 2020 at 16:00 Danish time.
