Apply at The Ucross Foundation

The Ucross Foundation Residency Program is currently accepting applications for residencies of 2-6 weeks. Located on a 20,000 acre working cattle ranch in the foothills of Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains, the Foundation provides individual workspace, living accommodations, uninterrupted time and the experience of the historic High Plains landscape to selected writers, artists, and composers working in all disciplines. Artists, writers and composers from around the United States and the world, in all stages of their professional careers, are invited to apply to work on individual or collaborative projects. Applications are also welcome from those writing about the arts, and from individuals working in the natural sciences. Fellows are chosen by a panel of professionals in the arts and humanities in a highly competitive application process. The quality of an applicant's work is given primary consideration. Final invitations for residencies are extended at the discretion of the Ucross Foundation.

There is no charge for room, board, or studio space. The quality of an applicant’s work is given primary consideration in the review process; individuals from all stages of their professional careers are invited to apply.  At any one time there are typically 10 individuals in residence.  Facilities include 4 Visual Art Studios, one with an Elephant etching press, 4 writer's studio, 2 live-in Composer's studios, each with an electronic keyboard and baby grand piano.
