Individual traveling expenses
The Willard R. Espy Literary Foundation is a non-profit organisation based in Oysterville, Washington and dedicated to advancing and encouraging the literary and linguistic arts. Their goal is to provide writers with an environment in which they can pursue their work without interruption. Both emerging and established poets, fiction writers, creative non-fiction writers, playwrights and screen writers are eligible for the residences.
As there are no accommodations for partners or pets, and as Oysterville is a small and quiet rural village, people of some self-sufficiency are our ideal. Residents provide their own transporation to and from Oysterville (unless other arrangements are made with the Foundation) which is 180 miles from Seattle and 120 miles from Portland, and they are encouraged to keep a car with them for the duration of their residency.
