Paid by artist:

Wasps offers a month to month lease to allow maximum flexibility for artists. Rates per sq ft vary from building to building but the average studio rent is around £150 inclusive of bills and rates.

Application guidelines:

Wasps' studios for artists are intended to support visual and applied artists and makers. Wasps operates a registered waiting list and asks anyone looking to rent a studio with Wasps to apply to our waiting list. Due to a very high level of demand it is inevitable that one will have to wait for space.

To register for space, Wasps asks the applicants to provide the following:

  • A completed application form (to be found here)
  • 6-8 images of your most recent work
  • An up to date CV
  • A statement about your practice.

Wasps (Workshop & Artists Studio Provision Scotland) is a charity that provides affordable studios to support artists, arts organisations, and creative businesses. Wasps currently houses about 900 artists and 33 organisations at 20 buildings across Scotland.

Wasps provides studio space for artists and makers, office space for crative industries and social enterprises, and cultural offices. Information for all the spaces and application can be found here.
