Paid by host 
  • Residents are provided with comfortable accommodation in a mansion, a grant for the project, as well as travel from Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod or St. Petersburg* and expenses for materials.
  • Grant: 40 000 rubles (550 EUR) for the implementation of the project.
  • Materials and equipment: residents should clarify the available equipment and discuss the purchase of necessary materials before their arrival. A total of 20,000 rubles (250 EUR) is allocated for materials.

* Other conditions: the residence covers travel expenses up to 5000 rubles (70 EUR). Usually, this amount is enough to cover tickets for the train and transfer to the city of Vyksa from the nearest railway station Navashino.

Vyksa Art Residence


The Vyksa Art Residence was founded by the OMK-Uchastie (OMK-Participation) Charity Foundation in 2017 as part of the Art-Ovrag festival and works all year round. It has since been visited by more than 30 artists. Applications are open to artists of all ages and working in all techniques. Preference is given to projects that focus on the local context.

The curator of the Vyksa Art Residence is Alisa Bagdonaite, art manager, culture specialist and art dealer. She is the head of Zarya Center for Contemporary Art in Vladivostok with an international art residence of its own, which has been successfully running since the end of 2014.


From the resident, it is expected:

  • To conduct a welcoming lecture for a wide audience.
  • To conduct at least one master class, seminar, training lecture or educational course.
  • To hold a reporting exhibition (or presentation in another form) based on the results of the entire period of work in the art residence in the residence's mansion or in the city museum.
  • Individual works created by the author in Vyksa will be accepted into the fund. The number and scope of work are determined individually.
Accommodation Information 

Vyksa Art Residence provides a separate bedroom with bathroom in a mansion, which has an equipped kitchen, living room, study and everything necessary for living and working on the project. The fenced area of the residence has a garden, ideal for picnic and outdoor activities.

Studio Information 

There is a workshop space (20 m2) for sharing in the building of the residence.
