International School for Art and Research

Description

Established in 1970, the Villa Arson is a one-of-a-kind national institution dedicated to contemporary art. On its premises it accomodates an Advanced National School of Art, a National Contemporary Art Centre and an artist-in-residence unit. With its focus on research, the Villa Arson offers a state-of-the-art technical equipment which enables it to pursue its principal role, while keeping an eye on activities, practices and challenges in the contemporary art arena.

In 2012, the Villa Arson opened a residency program for curators. This program offers short-term stays to research and work on an exhibition, using the library of the Villa.

Since 2013, the Villa Arson welcomes 3 artists in residence per year for stays of 3 months. The Villa covers the costs of accommodation and studio, as well as offers a grant of 5.000 euros.
