450€/week, travel costs, food, specific material not available in the studio, 10 € annual membership fee.
The price include accommodation, local transportation (bus card), full equipped studio with firings (for ceramic) and basic material, including clay and various oxides, and exhibition expenses.

V.I.A., located in downtown Vallauris is an association, which aims to promote the development of contemporary creation in all its forms, yet specialized in ceramics. V.I.A. hosts artists from around the world in a well-suited environment conductive to creativity. V.I.A. is a place devoted to creation and sharing.
The association is intended for the creation, to participate, engage and experience the broadcast of cultural vitality. It is a gathering place that encourages creativity through sharing of ideas between artists and cultural institutions.
Meetings and exchanges between residents and local artists are held in Vallauris and its surroundings. The interaction between resident artists / students and accomplished artists from the region provides support on mutual influences, guides possible creative collaboration and allows to contribute to the development of art and cultural expansion.
Resident artists from around the world couple with cultural plurality and diverse techniques open new horizons, share discoveries and establish relationships, amity and professional network that can be sustain and beneficial for all parties.

Residents are lodged in a flat located in the Puissanton area (Vallauris), on a hill dominating the sea, in a pine-wood park.The flat consists of 3 bedrooms (2-3 beds per room for students, single room for teachers or artists sessions*) a living room with TV DVD player, computer, Internet access, printer (black and white), fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. A terrace offers the possibility for eating outside with a magnificent ocean view. Two tennis courts and a swimming pool (open from June 15 to September 15) are available in the park.
The apartment is 10 minutes by bus from the V.I.A art center (transportation card included for artists session). For students, transportation will be made with a minibus.
*For artist’s sessions, rooms are individual, except in the event of a spouse accompanying (additional cost to be determined with VIA).
Located in the heart of the city, the former studio of one of the greatest ceramists in Vallauris, “Roger Capron” has become the Atelier-Galerie C k’OMSA. The atelier has been completely renovated and offers a working space of 100m2, an opened space for Raku firings and a gallery of 80m2 for exhibitions.
Low temperature kiln 1020 Celsius / cone 05 volume 500 L; High temperature kiln 1300 Celsius / cone 10 volume 250 L; Test kiln; Raku kiln volume 200 L; 4 Conventional electric throwing wheels; Slab roller; Extruder; Pugger; Spray booth with all accessories (compressor, spray gun, mask, glasses); Banding wheels; Easels for sculpture; Clay, basic materials (oxides, glaze, pigments / stain) and small tools are also available (excluding specific or unusual products).
Vallauris is situated at the Côte d`Azur in the close neighbourhood of Cannes and Antibes and only 15 min. away from the Nice international airport. Vallauris Institute of Arts is located in the heart of the city.
Picasso, attracted by the local craftsmen’s know-how, moved to the city of potters in 1948 and dedicated himself to ceramics. The popularity of the painter in turn brought in a crowd of visitors, famous people gathered here, artists settled down to learn in turn about ceramics, so contributing to the revival of this activity. Today still, artists and craftsmen work side by side and Vallauris enjoys the label “Town of arts and crafts”.
