The Unifiedfield / el campo unificado is an independent art space and artist-run organization focusing on the experimental aspects of sound, video and performance art. They observe the world as a network of interdependent connections and they understand artistic practice as a vehicle that can transform life, the relation with ourselves, society, and the natural world. It previously occupied a traditional complex amongst rice fields in Yogyakarta (Indonesia), subsequently moving into a cave in Granada (Spain) before settling in an antique building nestled in Granada’s historic Moorish quarters, the Albayzín, where it ran an artist residency for three years. In 2013, The Unifiedfield initiated its Nomadic Artist-in-Residence Program in The Philippines where is currently working in collaboration with Balud Art Network.
The Unifiedfield / el campo unificado is about to launch its third residency program and the first edition of an annual arts festival in Castellar de la Frontera, Cádiz (Spain). In October - November 2017, six international artists will coincide in an Andalusian home at a medieval fortress in the heart of Los Alcornocales Natural Park. For this program, artists are invited to work out of their comfort zone to experiment with collaborative processes and ephemeral interventions in the village and the natural surroundings. Besides the main residency in Castellar, there is also the possibility to develop a project in two different settings during other periods:
Participation at a festival, workshop and presentation of residency project.
In Castellar: private bedroom with shared facilities and common spaces in an Andalusian home at a medieval fortress in the heart of Los Alcornocales Natural Park.
Shared facilities and common spaces are available in the main residency in Castellar (for the other 2 locations, if you need more information, please send them an email). The focus of this residency will be interventions in nature and the village.
