Tyrone Art Center aims to enrich the artists culture of their region by providing a productive working environment for visual artists and writers.
This residency is for an individual artist. There is a 15'x25' studio space in a barn with good light and wall space. The artist resides in a 200 year old log home in a single bedroom with a full bath nearby. Kitchen and laundry facilities are included. The artist supplies their own food. The site has 5 acres, very private and rural with a huge pond and wildlife.
The bedroom is on the 2nd floor adjacent to the full bath. The kitchen and laundry are on the first floor. The home is 200 years old. A back porch is available for use and there is a shared living room. Air Conditioning is available during the hottest months.
The home is shared with the owners, Elizabeth Burger and her husband Charles Struble. A cat is also in residence.
This is shared but walled off space. There is total privacy and a secure door. The studio is located in a bran on the property.
A well lite 15"x25" space with high ceiling, wall space for painters and photographers. 2 electric kilns (extra charge for firings), tables, shelves and cement, level floor.
Rural area near Westminster, Maryland. 90 minutes north of Washington, D.C. and 45 minutes west of Baltimore, Maryland.
Stores for food and other necessities of located nearby.
