The Griffis Art Center wants to cultivate and encourage contemporary fine art and artists and create an opportunity for international exchange among artists and the community through arts. The Artist-in-Residence Program is for artists involved in the creation of visual arts. It is neither a school nor an artist's colony. It does, however, offer an opportunity for professional artists to explore their full creative potential. An artist's work may be contemporary or traditional, and may include most types of medium. However, certain casting techniques, which take too long to produce finished products, may have to be eliminated. Printmaking, photography and casting equipment are not available on the premises.
