subnet addresses the opportunities and dangers of new technologies, especially communication technologies and social networks. In particular, public discourse and active debate and participation on the part of the public are close to our hearts. In their events, they try out different formats for imparting technological knowledge, also with a special focus on disadvantaged population groups.

subnet promotes and supports Salzburg media art in its practice, presentation, networking and development. The research and development of concepts and processes in the field of the penetration of art and technology in cooperation with national and international experts from art, science and research is an essential part of this work.

subnet offers itself as a networking platform for people who are characterized by experimental, critical and artistic handling of the new media.

In addition to carrying out its own projects, subnet also provides an open infrastructure in which artistic creativity and freedom of expression can be realized. In addition, subnet uses its infrastructure to create experimental production spaces for young regional media artists.
