soundSCAPE

Description

The festival now known as soundSCAPE debuted in 2005 as an initiative to bring together composers and performers interested in new music. soundSCAPE offers a composer in residence fellowship. The fellowship involves: the composition of one work for faculty ensemble (piano, soprano, & percussion); the possibility of additional performances of other compositions; mentoring composer participants at festival (lessons, master classes); one or more lectures; opportunities to perform (if applicable).

Accommodation Information

Shared occupancy at a city-center hotel is included as part of the festival tuition. Festival accommodations are within 10-15 minutes walking distance from the conservatory. Participants who elect to arrange their own accommodation for the duration of the festival will be given a $300 reduction in tuition. The festival assumes no responsibility for the arrangement of off-site accommodation.

Location

SoundSCAPE has been held on Lake Maggiore in the Italian Alps, just minutes from international borders of France and Switzerland.
