Each year the application is only open for specific regions This year it is Lisbon. One artist will be awarded with the international residency at Skovde Art Museum.
Skovde Art Museum is a municipal art museum located in the Culture Center where there also is a library, cinema, city museum, concert hall and restaurant. The art museum collection is primarily Swedish art modernism to contemporary. In addition to the museum there is also a kunsthalle and they have participated in many projects for public space. The museum, cultural center and the artist residency program is committed to a policy of nondiscrimination and equal opportunity for all persons regardless of race, sex, color, religion, creed, national origin or ancestry, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and disability.
AiR Skövde is a residency for international artists founded in 2014 for Socially Engaged Art/Art in Public Space located in West Sweden. It is semi directed residency between 2014-2017 and the program investigates ”boundaries” in and between different societies, locally and/or internationally. Suggested themes are, but not limited to; migration, democracy, voice, ownership etc. They encourage work with attempt of claiming or having a critical stance to sites in public or semi public spaces.
1 bedroom + kitchen, shower, laundry & studio and one sofa bed. Accommodates 1 (max 3). Bed linnen and towels provided. Please note steep stairs to second floor.
Combined studio and living. Located in a separate building next to artist run gallery, print studio and the art museum.
They collaborate with artist run print studio. Technical support from museum upon request if available.
