Shankill Castle
Shankill Castle was first built as a Queen Anne House and extended and castellated in the 1820s. Steeped in history, it has been a place of inspiration to artists for the last 20 years. Shankill has been home to the Cope family since 1991.
Dedicated to the preservation of this historic home they have restored and now celebrate the unique and eclectic character of the building. The Cope family consist of three artists, one historian and one archaeologist and their talents and passions are reflected in the lively pursuits at the castle. The castle, and farmyard are frequently used to host exhibitions and used as studios and attract visitors from the local surrounding areas, Ireland and international visitors.
For those accepted into the residency program these spaces are reserved for the sole use of the artists to be inspired, to create and to be.
The residencies are open to artists of all mediums, local and from all over the world. You are also welcome to visit our ResArtis profile.
