The Society for the Promotion of Schloss Plüschow was founded in 1991 with the aim of offering space for modern art to prosper within the castle's historical architecture. The society's main concerns are to provide an innovative artistic program and to create an institution for the modern, cosmopolitan promotion of artists in Mecklenburg. A discriminating artistic program, a commitment to work with young people, cultivation of diverse international contacts and work in the area of new media are among the most important components of the program at the Artists' Center, which is conceived not only as a venue and a place for artists to live and work, but also as a center for communication and the exchange of ideas.
The castle offers five large studios and apartments with kitchenette, bathroom and toilet. An engraving workshop and internet access are available to the artists.
