Pilchuck residencies include on-campus housing, travel reimbursement, a materials stipend, and an artist honoraria. The Hauberg Fellowship and Innovation in Image residencies also include all meals.

Pilchuck Glass School fosters and educates a worldwide community that explores the creative use of glass in art and design.

The serene campus in Stanwood, Washington, is nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains amidst a working tree farm an hour north of Seattle.

From May through October every year, Pilchuck's Summer + Fall Program offers a series of courses as well as residencies for emerging and established artists in all media. Three of these residency programs are open to yearly applications:

– The Emerging Artist in Residence Program for promising artists with experience in glass
– The collaborative John H. Hauberg Fellowship for a group of up to six artists working across media
– The Innovation in Image Residency for artists interested in combining printmaking, digital imaging, and glass

Studio Information

Residents have access to Pilchuck's flexible studios and work spaces with the exception of the hot shop. Our studios can support a wide range of glassworking techniques and other media, including: flameworking, neon, coldworking, mold making, kiln forming, printmaking, digital imaging, woodworking, metal work, 3D printing, mixed media.

Accommodation Information

All residents receive on-campus housing in Pilchuck's cabins and cottages.
