Palais de Tokyo

Pavillon Neuflize OBC

Description

The Pavillon is the art research lab at Palais de Tokyo in Paris. The Pavillon provides a space for exchange between artists, fostering a reflection on the practices and implications of art in the contemporary moment. It is also a site where practice becomes immediately inscribed in the field of art. The residents are all emerging professional artists and the Pavillon offers them the opportunity to widen their experiences and enrich their art practice without jeopardising their project's integrity. While artistic activity might generally be considered an assertively individual, singular and identifiable practice, the Pavillon encourages a collaborative form of inquiry and the development of productive working relationships between the various artists in residence.

The programme of Le Pavillon will be punctuated with various events and may take very different form; personal research, meetings with various figures from the world of art directly linked to the overall project of the "Palais de Tokyo", Workshops in different countries, creative production whether collective or individual open to all types of artistic practices...

Outcome

The residents have the opportunity to work on a range of different projects throughout the year (exhibitions, publications, workshops in France or overseas) with the support and supervision of a guest artist or critic.
