Open-Air Art Museum and Sculpture Park at Pedvale
They provide artists with space where to create art of works and exhibit them. They offer artists a place to live in a modest romantic country style surrounded by inspiring beauty of nature. In the territory of 120 hectares two old manor houses and exhibition hall are available.
They invite artists to present themselves and their work to the local community. The residency also offers a possibility to teach a public workshop, to perform or make an exhibition during the residency. But none of the above is mandatory and the organisers will discuss this matter with every artist personally.
Studios can be used as private or shared. They offer 4 studios on the ground floor of the manor house ~30 square meters each and 3 smaller ones in the basement. Artists have 24 hour access to the workspace. It is possible to work outside in the sculpture park as well. Artists are responsible for supplying their own materials. The residency fee varies depending on the workspace – private or shared.
Artists stay in a refurbished manor house – built at the beginning of the 19th century – in fully-furnished private bedrooms and they have access to the kitchen, common areas, laundry, Pedvale Art Park grounds, car parking etc.
Open-Air Museum at Pedvale is located on the North-West part of the Republic of Latvia 120 km from the capital Riga, in rural district Abava Valley, special cultural territory. The area of the museum is 200 hectares. It contains, together forming the minument of state significance.
