The Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus I (Kebbel-Villa), built in 1890 as residential accommodation, is used as a cultural facility for the town of Schwandorf for exhibitions in the field of fine arts, as well as for concerts, theatre, readings and lectures. The Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus II (Internationales Künstlerhaus) is run by the development association “Förderverein Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus e. V.”. At the moment, up to four artists at a time in the fields of lyric poetry, composition and fine arts can stay in Schwandorf-Fronberg for six to eight weeks to work, in an exchange programme with partners. Next to five accommodation units, the house contains a studio for a fine arts scholar, as well as for an author and composer.
The high and light rooms are perfect surroundings for exhibitions (about 300m²), but also for concerts, readings and theatre performances.
4 Individual apartments on the second floor (with small bathroom) and a kitchen, a dining room and a living room on the first floor.
2 studios for creative artists (print shop for lithography and etching) 1 studio for a writer, 1 studio for a composer.
How to reach the centre: by plane airport München or Nürnberg, by train station Schwandorf, or by car highway A 93, exit Schwandorf/Fronberg.
