Norman Mailer Writers Colony

Norman Mailer Writers Colony

The vision of the Colony is to honor Norman Mailer's contributions to American culture and letters, and to nurture future generations of writers. The Colony has established a Winter Fellowship and residency program for mid-career and distinguished writers. The Mailer Colony awards four winter Fellows each year in the form of living accommodations, work space and dinner meals. Writers can work as they wish independently of outside influences with the support of The Colony's winter support staff.

The Mailer Fellowship is a one month Fellowship designed to facilitate a balance between a focus on individual work and a forum for discussion among emerging writers. Occasional readings and presentations will allow Fellows to become acquainted with and inspired by the world of other Fellows. In addition, the Norman Mailer Center also offers Winter residencies that allow for a quiet space to write and create.

Accommodation Information

Accommodations will be at the Mailer home or a one-bedroom condo just a block away from the Colony.

Provincetown hugs the harbor on the inner "arm" of Cape Cod. You will never be far from a view of the harbor on one side of the town, and from the other, the ocean.
