Moly-Sabata
Moly-Sabata is a residency program operating all year long. They provide studios and facilities, as part of a local, national and international network of partners and opportunities to produce new artworks. Their public agenda offers an annual show during fall, several offsite exhibitions and education projects to keep celebrating a place for hospitality since 1927. So is Moly-Sabata France’s oldest active artist residency.
The outcomes types are linked with each modality. As exemple, partnerships with art centres mainly comes to exhibitions there, invdividual paid stays to an open studio event, writing scholarships to a presentation in a library nearaby and award invitations to our automn show. Many other options are possibles.
Aside the studios, the estate features a main house with reception and working rooms, outbuildings and a park. Moly-Sabata owns four individual studios from 50m² to 105m². An individual studio is also available in the parc to realize larger works, so the artist will be accommodated in a smaller one-room apartment in the main house.
Each studio is fully furnished to live in. Wifi, water, electricity, heat and sheets are provided. There is a laundry and a library accessible to the residents.
Moly-Sabata owns an electric oven for ceramics and a basic workbench. Good to know that there is a technical manager in the staff. Moly-Sabata is also located near huge commercial and industrial area with many opportunities to find materials.
Moly-Sabata is located along the edge of the river Rhône 60km in the south of Lyon and 40km in the north of Valence.
