Mauser EcoHouse Artist Residency

Mauser EcoHouse Artist Residency

Description

Mauser EcoHouse International Artist Residency is combining art and permaculture. The Eco-Conscious Artist Residency is on 1.5 acres in the beautiful Costa Rican jungle with a stream running through the lower half of the property. It is surrounded by dozens of different species of birds, butterflies, and insects, flowers and plants. It is common to have toucans, Scarlett macaws, monkey's, coati's, and sloths pass through. The yard is filled with edible fruits like plantains, papaya, and lemons. The organisers grow herbs on site for tea and for cooking - they have lemongrass, mint, stevia, holy and purple basil to name a few. The artists are invited to help themselves.
Continental breakfast and gourmet vegetarian dinners are included 5 days a week. The ingredients are either grown on site or locally and sustainably sourced.
The organisers can plan outings to go to the beach, Rainmaker waterfall and local waterfalls, Manual Antonio Park, and Monkey Mangrove tour. There is a library of books on site to learn about permaculture, sustainability, and Costa Rican wildlife and plants.
This residency is a great location for nature / landscape photographers / painters / dancers / music composers / sculptors / jewelry designers / writers / poets / plein air / visual /multi-media and installation artists.
You can also inquire about volunteer work / trade positions (50% discount on residency).

Outcome

Artists are encouraged but not required to present their work.
