La Petite Escalère

La Petite Escalère

The residency program at LPE undertakes three major goals : to promote LPE's unique natural and artistic heritage, to encourage and support contemporary artistic practices, and to be involved in the development of the local and national artistic scene. It is a unique garden and collection as a platform dedicated to creation, research and exchange around art, landscape and environment.

Each year, from May to October, La Petite Escalère will propose an event around modern and contemporary sculpture. A program of events (symposiums, artist talks, screenings, etc.) around the artist and his/her work will be proposed during the exhibition period. Each exhibition will be documented in a booklet, part of LPE's ongoing series of publications. This publication will be distributed through LPE to art centers, collections and museums, along with any other national and international relevant institutions.

Located in the Southwest of France, on the banks of the Adour river, at the limit of the Landes and the French Basque country, La Petite Escalère covers approximately 70 acres of marshland, meadows and wooded areas.
