Risography workshop for the artist, bills for electricity and gas, coffee and tea, a bike to use.
The artist's fee is 400 eur/month (printing materials and paper not included), 350 eur/3 weeks, 250 eur/2 weeks, 200 eur/1 week.
Artists can submit a compact project plan and documentation (CV and three pictures of work) and need to give a preference for which period they are applying.
KITOKIA GRAFIKA promotes independent comic culture in Lithuania and the world. Their activities include comics residency, comics publishing, alternative risography press, creative workshops, comics and zine library with a shop.
Comics / Risography Residency is open to comics and visual artists, art researchers, culture managers from all around the world to work on their projects and develop them using risography. The residency offers time, space and professional support for work, reflection, research, production and experimentation. It is a live-in work studio located in the Kaunas city center supplied with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and a working space. The residence has small comics library, good internet access and main tools needed for creation.
Also there are several risography printing machines with 6 different color drums, variety of printing paper. One or several members of Kitokia Grafika collective is always at hand during the residency period offering a free personal risograph workshop.
The artist donates few copies of one work and, if interested, can present his/hers work through an exhibition at the studio.
The residency is located in an old and restored building from a milk factory. The studio is 50 sq.m., working space with the computer and risographs is on the 1st floor, living room with a bedroom, kitchen and the shower is on the 2nd floor.
The studio offers: 2 risographs with 6 color (red, blue, green, yellow, purple, black) drums, table with computer (Mac), light table, tools for post-production (cuting, binding, folding), printing paper.
There is a comics library that the resident can use.
