Full cleaning and maintenance service,once a week. Towels and sheets are furnished.
The hosts will help the artists in residence in the organization and communication/dissemination of their activity.

Unfortunately the hosts are not not able yet to offer grants. Artists will have to achieve grants by their own means, the hosts will help with invitation letters if necessary for your organization.

Paid by artist 

The studio can host a maximum of two artists in residence from 3 to 8 weeks. Price for the whole studio starts from 700 euros per 3 weeks, any extra weeks will cost 200 euros. The price includes: full use of studio-gallery, free internet, electricity, cold/hot water, fridge and small kitchen.

Artists are also responsible of meals, local transport, travel expenses and material costs.

PMA - Place by the Mediterranean sea for Artists | in residence


Gallery pma is a non profit association whose aim is to host and develop a program of collaboration and exchange among the professionals and the enthusiasts of creative sectors. Its geographic location, an island in the centre of the Mediterranean sea, suggested them their name and resumes their wish to be a simple "Place by the Mediterrenean for Artists"

The space is concived to give guests the chance to work, to exhibit and to live in the same space, in a very central location in the city, and to make of it a meeting point among people involved in arts and creativity. The hosts' main interests are in photography, architecture, design. They are defining the residency programs and in this sense the hosts are also looking for partners for starting a networking residency program among Northern Europe and Mediterranean countries.


Artists are invited to share their work with the public through meetings, exhibitions, or workshops. Although this is not mandatory, the hosts encourage a dialogue between artists and the public.

Accommodation Information 

The studio is furnished with a double bed on the mezzanine, and come with pillows, blankets and duvet. There's a small kitchen equipped with a fridge, microwave oven, stove, a bathroom with shower and a closet. The private area opens to a small courtyard. The studio is furnished with a round table plus chairs, an armachair, a small sofa on request.
There is air conditioning and an alarm system table, an arm-chair etc.
The hosts offer free wireless internet access with the possibility of using a printer.
A bycicle is available for the guests.

Studio Information 

The gallery offers an open space studio of 50 sqm with about 35 sqm, ideal for working, exhibiting or workshop activities, that faces a pedestrian street with a door and a window, and a back area of about 15 sqm with a small kitchen, a bathroom and a sleeping area open to a small courtyard with a double height window.

Technical Information 

The studio has 2 working tables, 80 x160 cm, wireless connection,the two side walls have both a length of 8 mt x 4 mt hight. It is well illuminated with artificial light.


The residency is located in the historical centre of Cagliari, the capital town of Sardinia, a city of about 160.000 in the southern part of the island. It is located in a lively quarter, the old Marina, by the seafront and the port. Everything you might need - stores, museums, galleries, libraries, restaurants - is at a walking distance. It is very well served by public transportation of the city, just 5 minutes walking distance from the train and bus station, 10 minutes away by bus or car from the beach and from the airport.
