Gaining a space with the florence trust will provide you with the chance to join eleven other artists in a unique opportunity to work for an intense and concentrated period (12 months) pushing the boundaries of your work and exploring new ideas. The Trust aims to offer you an experience through its resources, networks and reputation. This goes well beyond the normal provision of just studio space. For many previous residents, their period with the Trust has been a turning point in their careers.
Since 2013, the Trust extends this offer of a studio space and mentoring to an emerging curator or curatorial partnership. The selected curator(s) will facilitate a series of events and exhibitions both within the Florence Trust’s inspiring, Grade-1 listed base and outside of it. They will engage with the resident artists and will get the opportunity to write a text about their artwork to be included in the summer exhibition’s catalogue.
Florence Trust studios are NOT live/work spaces. Artists who would be moving to London will need to budget separately for their living rent and bills, transport and materials.
Islington, London. All studios are housed in a unique Grade 1 listed Victorian church.
