FaveLAB is a platform for art and design research and production in Athens, Greece. They offer residency programs as well as curated exhibitions, workshops and symposiums. FaveLAB supports the international cultural exchange, endorses interdisciplinary art practices and provides helpful information about the local art community.
Their artist residencies, workshops, lectures, networking meetings and exhibition projects address artists, designers, curators and writers who work - or wish to enrich their knowledge - in the field of visual art, performance, film, art in public space, contemporary jewellery art, textile art, literature.
The FaveLAB Artist in Residence programs focus on the urban dynamics of Athens, a South East metropolis in the epicenter of social and cultural shifts, and aims at making their significance understandable to the art community and the broader public. Experimental art work, alternative presentations, socially integrative art and design approaches, communication campaigns are FaveLAB's main characteristics.
FaveLAB offers accommodation and space for work and research in Athens and on the Peloponnese - on a short-term or a long-term basis. The residency platform aims at stimulating contact and dialogue between the artists in residence, local players and institutions. The FaveLAB Artist in Residence programs also include curated exhibitions and presentations, installations, performances, public events and lectures.
Single artists or groups up to three can apply.
The artist is expected to take the residency as an opportunity to research, develop and realize a concept/work in Athens (or on the Peloponnese) and to get in touch with the local art community.
