The residency is self-catering. They provide one hour of one-on-one tuition daily with department heads and the artist is free to observe and participate in the working foundry at all times.

Paid by artist 

R8000 (c.a. 470 euro) per month includes accommodation, studio space, wifi access and skills transfer.

The Falconer Foundry Residency Programme

Description 

This is a skills-based residency program, situated within a working foundry, teaching sculpting and process skills necessary for bronze casting.

Accommodation Information 

Private room with shared kitchen and bathroom.

Studio Information 

A large open studio shared between 3 artists specifically designed to accommodate sculptors.

Technical Information 

Fully equipped workshop, full casting facilities including patination.

Location 

Residency is located on a working farm. It is a tranquil beautiful environment 10 km outside the nearest town, 2 hours inland from Durban.
