F_AIR is the brand-new space for contemporary art in Florence. Its concept is to communicate the vivacious and dynamic fine arts department of FUA, including an artist in residency program and art gallery open to the general public. The residency program is open to artists between 25 and 38 years old. The aim for the participant in the residency is not only to attain human and artistic growth but also to give academic and professional training to the students enrolled in the consortium of school buildings part of Florence University of the Arts, to which F_AIR also belongs. In addition, the residency proposes a scheduled exhibition of the artist’s work that will be presented at F_AIR.
F_AIR's studios for painting, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, and the resident artists living and working quarters are open spaces, they unfold around the main courtyard and blend to encourage a continuous exchange of ideas between students in class and the artists who live on-site.

Fresco materials: pigments, lime sand, crashed lime stone, marble meal, plastering tools, plaster, palette

The locations and facilities of FUA – School of Fine Arts and F_AIR are in historic “palazzi” throughout the center of Florence.
