The Danube Delta is a place where a large variety of ethnic minorities live: Russians, Livonians, Turks, Tartars, Roma people, Greeks, Italians, Germans, Hungarians, Hebrew, Ukrainian and Bulgarians, being the only inhabited delta in the world. This unique paradise has become, from both the sociological and cultural poit of view, a crucible of strong flavors, a true example of intercultural dialogue. “Jean Bart” Cultural Center is now calling for artists from all art fields to take part in a programme consisting in a four week residency, in July, in one of the picturesque villages from the heart of the Danube Delta: Mila 23, Crișan or Caraorman.
Thanks to this Residency programme, the selected artists will know, explore and value the artistic traditions and multiethnical cultural universe specific to the populations from the Danube Delta, materializing them in a specific artistic „product” – a cultural and artistic piece of work, unveiled to the public at the end of the residency, as a result of the creative teamwork.
