Description

Cirkus Cirkör is Sweden's first and largest contemporary circus and was founded in Stockholm in 1995. Cirkör consists of shows touring Sweden and the world, circus events for companies and organisations, lectures, research and development, circus training and an internationally renowned secondary school.

For many years Cirkus Cirkör has provided a place for external artists and companies to develop their projects. Cirkör then launched the Cirkör LAB (Laboratory for Artistic Brilliance), to extend its support for cross boundary arts and science meetings, mono disciplinary research and pedagogical research.

Residency at Cirkör LAB

Cirkör LAB wants to create an open environment where performers and companies who are in residency can work undisturbed, but the hosts also has a positive attitude towards presentation, documentation and the sharing of processes. The artist/company in residence will be working in a creative environment with the possibility of spontaneous encounters with other performers and practitioners who are present on Cirkör's premises every day.

Outcome

All on-going processes will be documented with the aid of photography, video, interviews and presentations that are both private and open to the public.
