The residency fee covers:

  • Lecture on Shipibo-Conibo Art
  • Transportation to and from local airport to residency.
  • Additional residency related transportation.
  • 3 meals per day - local traditional cooking
  • Pucallpa City art tour
  • Use of horses
  • Mandatory farm clothing (rubber boots, rain poncho, etc)
  • Fetching art materials in Pucallpa city if necessary
Paid by artist:
  • 1370 USD for international artists
  • 1200 USD for peruvian artists.

Artists also have to cover:

  • Air or bus tickets.
  • Medical insurance.
  • Materials and tools to carry out personal projects.
  • Domestic or international telephone calls.
Application guidelines:

Candidates:

  • Must be 21 or older
  • Must have good command of Spanish and/or English
  • Must have experience in an artistic field.

To be considered, candidates must present a portfolio with the following (in PDF format):

  • Letter of intention (under 600 words)
  • CV including professional, personal and artistic experience
  • A minimum of 3 images of past work. Please limit videos to less than 5 minutes.

Description

This is a Peruvian center promoting projects, studies and training in the arts and sciences in the Central Amazon region. Situated on the farmlands of the company Margenes del Bosque, the center is in the Amazonian tropical rain forest of Eastern Peru. This residency program seeks to create and encourage the exchange between Amazon based artists and foreign artists in search of mutual enrichment.
