The artists and scientists who come to Farrera will be established professionals for the most part. They will be invited or accepted on the basis of specific projects they would like to realise.

The Center of Art and Nature (CAN) of Farrera is a residence programme for artists and researchers from all over the world. Placed in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees, in Pallars Sobirà, the village of Farrera (25 inhabitants at 1360 m) has a privileged and calm environment for reflection, inspiration and creativity. The residence is mainly addressed to artists with a special interest in nature, geologists, botanists, geographers, historians, anthropologists and other experts in the areas of social and natural science.
Separate from studio. Simple, comfortable individual and double rooms.
There are three production spaces and one research space in the village. The studios are light-filled work spaces with running water and electricity.

The village of Farrera is located in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees situated on an south-facing bluff at 1365 metres of altitude. As one of the highest inhabited villages in Catalonia, its views are of the surrounding mountains breathtaking. The mountains beyond are rugged and wild, with native pine and birch forest covering the lower slopes and high, bare peaks above soaring into blue southern skies. All kinds of rare animals are found here, including wild boar, chamois, black woodpeckers, golden eagles, capercaillies and vultures.
