Cemeti Art House is not always announcing open application for every residency period. Since 1988, Cemeti Art House has been actively promoting and stimulating practices in the contemporary Indonesian art scene and art practices on a wider international platform. More than ten projects, such as site specific, community based exhibitions, presentations, and performances involving local and foreign artists, writers, and art activists, have been realized each year. Having an extensive network, Cemeti Art House will be an important hub and data base for research process.
From 2014 up to 2015, Cemeti Art House initiates a new residency programme titled ‘Makan Angin’ (wandering around). The host offers three residencies for three months each year for both local and international artists, curators and multidisciplinary researchers, and residents will be given the opportunity to widen their scope on art discourse in Yogyakarta.
Cemeti Art House also offers a residency programme called "Other Residencies". This programme is not regularly designed or held every year. This opportunity is open for local and international artists of various disciplines and mediums. Applicants should attach financial plan individually/independent or institutionally.

For "Makan Again" programme, artists are expected to do a workshop, give a lecture, held a discussion, or create any other program which is based on the artists’ interest and the expertise in the second month. In the last week of the third month a final presentation is held in the form of an exhibition, or other presentation formats according to the artists’ need. The final presentation will continue for a week and is accompanied by an open discussion as part of the evaluation of the residency program.
Two living rooms located directly above the studio and a traditional, guest house-style residence, located two hundred meters into the kampong. Bicycles are available for transportation.
